COVID Update

Given the current high level of concern around COVID the committee has decided to move this Friday’s session to Zoom. Unless the government puts additional restrictions put in place, we will return to the hall next Friday (14th), with precautions as before (2m spacing, ventilation, hand sanitisers, etc). The committee also asks if people attending the hall session could please take a lateral flow test within 24 hours of the session.

Blackford MusicFest21

Here is the set list for our part of the MusicFest21 concert on Saturday at the Blackford Church. We may throw in a couple of faster tunes if the mood takes us! The concert starts at 7.30 so we should gather between 7-7.15 to tune etc. The church is open from 5.30.

First half:

Twinkle Twinkle; Scotland the Brave; Balchraggan
Twisted Bridge and Poor Man
Three Craws and Kafoozalum

Second Half

Johnny McIljohn
Arran Boat Set
Glenside; Little Diamond; For the Young.

Friday Sign-up Sheet No More

We are no longer limiting numbers strictly to 16 people in the hall on a Friday, and so there is no longer a need to sign-up using the web sheet. Perth and Kinross removed this restriction in September, but we elected to keep in in place a little longer. If now feels right to relax this limit and move a bit closer to pre-lockdown format, but we will continue to meet in the big hall with social distancing, ventilation and hand gels. If you have any questions then do please get in touch.

Tutor Next Friday

Very pleased that we will have Jake Paterson coming along next Friday as a tutor!

Although PKC have removed restrictions on hall numbers we are continuing to follow the 16-person limit for the moment, so please sign up using the sign-up sheet if you want to come along. There is a link to the sign-up sheet on the Members’ Area page.

Workshop on 5th September

It is great that we are now allowed to meet again at the hall for the Friday sessions and it has been good to see some of you there.

We would normally run two away weekends each year, but that is still not possible. However, we hoping to offer a few extra workshops, the first of which is on Sunday 5th September. This will be everyone, although being able to play from music or by ear will be expected. The format will depend on who signs up but we will focus on arranging tunes and sets more than on learning new tunes.

Date: Sunday 5th September
Place: Blackford Hall
Time: 1330 – 1730 (all) 1830-2000 (Ceilidh Band)

PLEASE EMAIL TO LET US KNOW IF YOU WILL ATTEND – BY 27TH AUGUST IF POSSIBLE.
