Blackford Fiddle Group: Learn to Play Traditional Music in a Fun and Supportive Environment
The Blackford Fiddle Group (BFG) is a community music group with members of all ages and abilities. We meet weekly on Fridays at the Moray Institute in Blackford, Perthshire to learn and play traditional music on fiddles and other instruments. BFG is a great place to learn to play the fiddle or other traditional instruments. We offer a supportive environment where everyone can learn at their own pace. We sometimes have experienced tutors who can help you with your technique, mostly we encourage members to help each other. In addition to learning to play, BFG also provides opportunities to perform. We play at ceilidhs, concerts, and other events. This is a great way to share your music with others and to get feedback on your playing. If you are interested in learning to play traditional music in a fun and supportive environment, then the Blackford Fiddle Group is the perfect place for you. Come along to one of our Friday sessions and see for yourself!
The Blackford Fiddle Group is very please to be hosting a workshop on Saturday 11th October by Mickey and Michelle from Australia / New Zealand. These wonderful musicians are friends of Linda Rankin. The workshop will be free to participants and will run 1pm – 5:30pm. Aimed at mixed instruments intermediate to advanced. For more information please see here.
